We believe Jane is one of the best value ways to live while studying at the University of Tasmania, because Jane is much more than a desk and a bed in a room. Jane can make a real difference to how things work out. The academic support team can help you find ways to learn and study that suit you best. We’re also here for the non-academic side of things too, with advice, ideas and a tonne of fun. Not to mention three home-cooked meals every day. All of that and so much more is included in our fees.

Contract Length

Residents may choose between the following standard contract durations:

A 38-week contract, covering Semester One and Semester Two of the academic year.
52-week contract, covering Semester One, Semester Two, and the Summer Trimester.

We aim to provide our residents and parents with the best value for money. At Jane there are no hidden costs and we maximize the value for money our residents get from their fees. Living at Jane can look expensive however it’s important to do your homework. Hidden costs can add up quickly.
